A very beautiful house in one of our favourite parts of France. Nestled in the Dentelles, you can take fantastic walks straight out of the door. 10 minute stroll to the lovely town of Sablet and Seguret, surrounded by vineyards that produce delicious wine. The house is extremely spacious, stylish and comfortable and a perfect place for a family vacation.
You might wonder looking at the photos if this property can really be this lovely, it is! The owners obviously love their home and have taken a lot of care to set up everything you might need to enjoy your stay. The housekeeper meets you to show you round then you sit back and enjoy this wonderful place in Provence. Eating on the terrace with the wonderful view of Sablet is magical as were the shooting stars we were lucky to see on several evenings! We would love to still be there and hope to return.
This house is even more beautiful than the photos show.
Booking was easy and dealing with the owners, a delight.
It is a pretty, spacious house in a very private setting in the middle of vineyards, off a private lane just outside of Sablet.
With a pool and lots of outdoor seating/dining areas – some shaded from the sun - it is perfect for outdoor living.
We made good use of the built-in and covered barbecue area and had all our meals outside.
The interior and exterior of the house are beautifully maintained. The kitchen is completely equipped with everything you could possibly need.
On arrival you are met by the House Manager who helps you to settle in – a nice touch.
The owners leave lots of maps, brochures, etc. in the house for the area, there was a very detailed house guide that covered just about every topic, and the comfortably furnished upstairs living room has a very large selection of books.
The pretty village of Sablet is an easy walk away, and it has everything you need...2 bakeries, a small grocery store, a bank, a butcher, a chemist, a tourist office/cave, a bar, a pizza restaurant and a really excellent Michelin Starred restaurant close by.
The towns of Gigondas, Séguret, Vacqueras, and Beaumes de Venise, with good food and wine are only a few kilometers away, and Vaison-la-Romaine, the nearest "big" town is only 11k away.
This is a perfect house to use as a base for walking and biking...there are a number of marked walks and bike rides that run right through Sablet; for touring around the area; for doing nothing but sitting quietly by the pool and reading a book.
The view of Sablet from the dining table on the terrace at sunset is quite spectacular. Stay here if you can! I recommend it highly.
We love Provence and have stayed at many places in this area over the years. This year we decided to stay at St Amand in Sablet. A wonderful choice….
The booking process was friendly, simple and professional. The house was exactly as the owners had said it would be – spacious, beautifully clean, simply furnished with quality items, and in a delightful private situation.
We were a family of five and we had plenty of space to spread out and it is easy to find your own private spot to relax if you want to. There are lots of shady areas in the garden for your afternoon siesta. The pool was crystal clear and very inviting.
The house is run very efficiently with a House Manager to meet and greet you, gardeners that visit weekly and a pool man that also visits weekly.
The kitchen is very well equipped, including an impressive professional stove. It’s obvious that the owners love to cook! We mainly cooked on the BBQ in the outside kitchen and all of our meals were enjoyed outside sitting on the terrace. Wonderful…..
The village of Sablet is a very easy walk away – about 15 minutes – and here we found everything we needed for our every day provisions: a butcher, 2 bakeries, a small grocery store, and a bank. If needed, there are also supermarkets close by in Sarrians, Carpentras and Vaison la Romaine.
There are lots of activities in the area. We hired bikes from Vaison and enjoyed exploring the local area and vineyards. The owners leave comprehensive information about the area, including walking and cycling maps.
We were very reluctant to leave and would happily have stayed another week if there had been availability for us to do so.
We would certainly recommend you stay here if you can!
We really enjoyed our stay at St Armand. The house is surrounded by vineyards, with some really spectacular views towards Sablet from the terrace. It is a great place to experience rural Provence.
The house is large and well equipped; there were only two of us on this holiday, but it would easily accommodate quite a large family. Lots of space inside and outside, with a good pool and barbecue area.
We found lots to do in the region, including visits to Orange and to Vaison la Romaine. Seguret would be quite easy to walk to; we made the mistake of driving there. Really interesting and tasty restaurants nearby – les Abeilles in Sablet; and we were very lucky to find Tuilleries for a good value, rural Provencal experience.
Yes; we’ll be back.
We had the most wonderful relaxing family holiday in Sablet. Such a pretty small village – just as we all imagined it would be. This was our first visit to France and we cannot wait to return.
We choose this beautiful house, St Amand, as our base. We couldn't have wished for anything better.
Dealing with the owners was easy, the booking process uncomplicated and they were exceptionally helpful.
St Amand is gorgeous! The photos and description are absolutely spot on. The whole place is beautifully clean, uncluttered, very tastefully furnished and very well appointed. Everything we needed, we found.
On arrival, we were met and greeted by the very friendly house manager. She helped us to settle in after our long journey before leaving us to relax and plan our days.
The owners leave a very generous Welcome Pack – the local wine being enjoyed by all of us later that evening whilst sitting on the terrace and enjoying the magnificent views of the village. Quite spectacular.
All your daily needs are easily catered for in the village of Sablet without the need for driving. There are numerous weekly markets in the area, the nearest one being in Vaison La Romaine. A visit is highly recommended!
There is so much to do in this area:
We visited some of the very pretty villages in the area, Gordes, Sault, Segueret, Gigondas, Vacqueras, Beaumes de Venise to name a few.
We went on a wine tasting course with Olivier Hickman, we did a cookery course with Sabine Suter, we walked in the Dentilles.
Oh yes – and we also spent days simply relaxing by the pool and enjoying the tranquillity of St Amand.
We have no hesitation in recommending St Amand to any future guests. Indeed, we would encourage you to book. You will not be disappointed.
Tucked away in the beautiful countryside of Provence, is St Armand. A relaxing and peaceful jewel of a house with its surrounding gardens of lavender bushes, olive and fruit trees and neighbouring vineyards.
The house itself is superbly equipped and everything you might need is there and of high quality and well maintained. The bedrooms are well furnished and the extremely comfortable beds encourage afternoon siestas and dreamy nights' sleep.
The pool area is delightful with comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, and the trees too provide dappled light under which to shelter from the sun if needs be. Watching the sun go down on Sablet provides a glorious backcloth for dinner on the terrace.
There is plenty to see in the surrounding areas, if you feel the need to go out and explore, and Sablet has some friendly restaurants and shops - beware the patisseries!
All the descriptions of this beautiful holiday villa are more than accurate and I would recommend it to others wholeheartedly.
Visited once, returning is a case of when, not if.
We planned our stay at St Amand following a recommendation from friends who had stayed here during the summer of 2012.
We were thrilled by the house: it's very spacious, extremely well maintained and cared for, spotlessly clean and perfectly prepared by the house manager. The garden was also a delight, with lots of space and shade.
We did one big shop at a supermarket en route to the house - the owner provided all information for doing this prior to our arrival. Anything else we needed on a daily basis, such as the fresh criossants and bread, which we all became addicted to, we found in the local shops in the village of Sablet, stopping for a morning coffee at the Bar des Sports.
We visited the local markets in Vaison and Carpentras, we had a morning visit to Gordes and tested out many local restaurants! And we also found time to enjoy the beautiful garden and relax around the crystal clear pool.
We were very reluctant to leave, and we plan to return - but for a longer stay next time.
We would heartily recommend a stay at St Amand.
The holiday was everything we have come to expect from Provence. St Armand is nestled amongst the vineyards with fantastic views of Sablet. We spent hours gazing upon the village, devouring croissants, patés, cheeses and quaffing wine.
The house is exceptionally kept and provides everything you could need.
The pool provided fantastic relief from the mid-day sun. A great hit with the adults, as well as the kids.
You can while away the days quite easily at the house as there is plenty of room. Alternatively venture out to many of the close by villages and towns like Gigondas, Séguret, Beaumes-de-Venise, and Vaison-la-Romaine.
In essence we had fun, and would recommend this place 100%. Thanks for letting have a slice of heaven.
A beautiful Provencal house, St Amand, close to the pretty, unspoilt village of Sablet. This was the perfect setting for our family holiday.
The house is very private, but just a fifteen minute walk from the village of Sablet. Here we found everything we needed: the delicious morning croissants and bread from a choice of two bakeries, all our groceries from the small supermarket, wonderful fresh meat from the village butcher and fresh fish from the fishmonger who arrived on a Thursday morning and set up his van in the village. There was also a small market in the village square on Friday morning - this is where we found the most delicious tapenade and olives.
The house is absolutely spotless - you can immediately see that the owners love this house. It has a very welcoming feel. It is also very well equipped, from the luxurious bed linen and ample supply of soft towels to the matching crockery. The kitchen is very well appointed - it was a pleasure to prepare our meals in here, although all our meals were enjoyed sitting on the terrace and enjoying the most spectacular views of the village.
The owners leave a very generous welcome pack of goodies along with files containing all the information you need relating to the house, the area and the local restaurants.
We would happily recommend St Amand to all our family and friends and we hope to return very soon.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
