Peace, Tranquility and Calm - the perfect holiday destination

Traditional Perigord farmhouse in the heart of the Dordogne, close to all the main attractions. With everything you need, the location is an oasis of tranquility. The house is fully equipped and has air-conditioning, a welcome addition during August making sleeping comfortable. The landscaped grounds are fabulous, with swimming pool, children’s play equipment and plenty of furniture and sun loungers to relax both in and out of the sun. It’s the perfect entertaining space, with two covered terraces and large dining tables. We loved the opportunity to relax with a large family group (good WiFi to keep the kids connected), using it as a base to explore all the wonderful local towns and villages (Belves, Sarlat, Monpazier, Chateau des Milandes, canoeing at Castelnaud, Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, Domme and many more). Don’t forget Airparc Perigord - a full days entertainment and the kids loved it. If you’re a wine lover, all the wines of Cahors are close by. And if you’re a radio ham, a great open space for your portable HF antennas!!!

We loved Lortal and hope one day to return - all you need for the perfect family holiday.

Fantastic traditional french property with a great pool and a large garden.
We recently had a fantastic two week holiday at Lortal and Petite Lortal with our extended family. Brilliant house in a beautiful setting, with a great swimming pool which can be used by the whole family. Perfect location and a short drive to the nearby picturesque town of Belves. Lots to see and do in the area, with numerous chateaux and gardens all within a short drive. The property is extremely well equipped with everything you could need. Would highly recommend this property for a family holiday, we all look forward to returning soon!

We spent two wonderful weeks with three generations of family (10 in total) in Lortal and Petite Lortal. Lortal is a beautifully renovated old building, well equipped with all modern facilities. Petite Lortal provided us as grandparents rest and privacy. We enjoyed the lovely swimming pool and the beautiful gardens. The place is perfectly suited for small kids (slide, sandbox, playhouse). Lortal is located in a beautiful, peaceful area. Highly recommended for a family holiday.

La Lortal - La Lovely!

We had a wonderful 2-week stay. We loved the privacy and open space, with views across the valley. The pool is fantastic, beautifully clean and big enough for play and training (just!). We spent most of our time in the pool or on the kitchen terrace. The house stays wonderfully cool downstairs, but it gets hot upstairs. One room was too hot to sleep in during 30+ degs. The house is clean and well equipped. It is as lovely as it looks. We couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend a stay.

We loved this house.

Stayed 1 week in August. Two families, 8 in total. Lortal was perfect. To summarise :
– 2 parent rooms with ensuite bathroom/toilet (that is a massive plus, gives adults some privacy). Nice family bathroom for kids.
– house very well equipped
– so much character
– fabulous outdoor spaces for dining
– wonderful swimming pool
– fantastic views
– barbecue equipment
– great area for jogging
Neighbours big dogs will bark at you but are friendly .

Lovely house with beautiful gardens

We had 2 weeks in the house with 3 generations of family. The house is very well equipped, with fans in every room and all windows with mosquito netting. The gardens are fabulous with lovely planting and banks of herbs which are alive with bees and butterflies. Lots of outside seating areas so there is always somewhere to sit in the shade when it is very hot. A 12 minute drive to the bakers and the town of Belves which has a weekly market and a night market. Recommended for a family holiday.

Wonderful character rural property with lovely swimming pool

Beautiful old building with lots of character, excellent outside space with lots of different places to sit and eat; good size pool- very good facilities. Wonderful natural environment- owls, lots of butterflies and pretty garden.
A few kilometres to bakery and supermarket as expected in rural location; quite a few steps on ground floor could be challenging for older or disabled.

Great property

A great property that has everything you would want if staying with an extended family. A little bit remote (would have been nice to have been able to walk to a bolangerie) but to be fair this was made clear. If looking for this type of holiday again then I would have no hesitation returning.

Great house on superb location

Lovely and spacious home in quiet area. All you need is available in, including perfect swimming pool. Several outside seatings for all wheather (but the porch is the best!). Kitchen well equipped, beds excellent. Surrounding very well suited for long walks. Highly recommended.
