We thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight stay at Le Bergerie. Perfect size for our group of 2 adults and 3 kids - we still had spare beds if we'd needed them. Charming, well maintained house set in lovely surroundings. We'd happily recommend this holiday home from home. Thank you Lucinda and Andrew.

La Bergerie is a lovely old Provence house which has been sympathetically restored by it's owners and is a haven of peace situated in a remote wooded area, yet close to the lovely Medieval hilltop Villages of Callian and Montauroux. Within easy reach of all of the Cote d'Azur and nice to return to, as a slightly cooler alternative to the intense heat of the sun drenched beaches! Lovely pool and terraces.

My family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a wonderful holiday at La Bergerie. The house is quite secluded and very peaceful, it has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and immediately felt like home. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us, the space is well thought out with good sized bedrooms, modern shower rooms, a well equipped kitchen, shaded terrace for dining and wonderful pool area for lazing under the bluest of french sky. The photographs accompanying this listing are accurate.
The villages of Callian and Montauroux are just a short drive away, both have great bakeries, and we found the locals to be very friendly towards visitors, there are 4 large supermarkets 10-15 minutes drive away. It is only a short drive to Lac Ste Cassien a stunning lake with kayaks, paddle boards, and pedaloes for hire. The house is also well situated for the A8 motorway for trips to Nice, Cannes, St Tropez and Monaco.
Communication with Lucinda, the owner, was good and she quickly sorted a small issue we had when we arrived.
I would recommend La Bergerie to my friends and family.

Our family of 6 had the most relaxing week here in this magical spot. The pool was great, lovely and warm, safe for our 6 year olds. The layout was great to be able to sip on wine reading a book whilst watching them having a great time in the pool. 3 good bathrooms with good showers, plenty of space.
This villa is well located to explore the picturesque local villages, though a car is a must.
The closest village of Callian is charming and have some good restaurants and great atmosphere. A perfect place to recharge the batteries!

We had an amazing time in this beautiful house which comfortably accommodated 4 adults and 4 teenagers. Everything you need for a relaxing family holiday is there. The local area is stunning with lots to see and do. Will definitely return!

This is such a beautiful place to stay. The house is deceptively spacious. It has been renovated with great sensitivity and has such a homely feel. The house is extremely well equipped. The garden is so peaceful. There are about half a dozen houses on the track, but each is tucked away and not overlooked. We did meet some very friendly, helpful neighbours. We did a bit of walking and running from the villa (some challenging hills and some amazing views), usually returning for breakfast on the terrace. Happy memories.

La Bergerie is a quirky and beautiful home, which is full of history. It is very well appointed and has all the facilities necessary to make your stay run smoothly, and therefore feel on holiday. There was plenty of space for our two families to move about comfortably. The new bathrooms are beautifully presented, and the terrace was a super spot for all our meals. The pool was great fun, and a must for our two small children. We even got a work out with the pool jets! The local area is stunning and so exploring down to the lake, the gorges, and cycling the area was a joy. Lucinda was very helpful throughout our stay. Thank you.

We had a lovely two weeks here last summer. The villa is as described, somewhat rustic in the living areas but with very comfortable bedrooms and efficient modern bathrooms. Mosquitos abound but are easy to deal with. I suspect 8 adults would be tight but for us it was a perfect lazy summer holiday. The pool is deep and cool with plenty of places to laze in the sun or shade.
And oh so quiet. We are not fans of the crowd and if you wish for seclusion you have found it.
Some issues with the pool filter which were dealt with once we made Lucinda aware of the problem.
Lovely area. The local lake is great fun and the activities very reasonably priced. Convenient supermarket at the bottom of the hill on which the two villages sit. We went to restaurants in Fayance, Callian and Montaroux all lovely to watch to world go by. The beach at Frejus was a single trip but made a refreshing change. The village of Mons, the Caves at St Cezaire and the Gorges de Verdon were all pleasant trips. Grasse and the sweet factory at Pont du Loup were also fun.
Would I recommend to a friend? Yes. We would consider going again but we tend to like to try different places each year. Could it be improved? A hammock would have allowed me to truly relax in the shade but otherwise no!

We spent two weeks (last couple of weeks in June) at this rural property tucked away in the forest about 40 minutes from Cannes. Location was convenient (a car essential though) for visiting local villages (although it's worth checking out the exact location of the property on Google maps before you go!), also not far to get on the motorway, and about 35 minutes to beaches on the Cote d'Azur. Good quality local restaurants in Callian (nearest village) and Montauroux (neighbouring village).
Description of property and facilities was accurate – only two of us stayed here, but there was ample accommodation for more. The place was pretty clean - this is a family built / owned and there are lots of personal touches everywhere (photos etc.), and in terms of maintenance it was in reasonably good repair. Be careful to avoid a twisted ankle though - some of the steps from the terrace down to the driveway are rough and uneven! Loungers were available, the kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cutlery, a washing machine is available and the ice machine part of the fridge was a welcome bonus! There's a mainly covered terrace providing a shaded seating area. The only real downsides were the numbers of mosquitoes (probably due to the forest location) and wasps that were trying to invade the pool - there are no fly screens / beads on the windows / doors here, so it might be worth taking mosquito nets if you can. Tracks go either side of the property so if you are on the terrace or in the pool you can be seen by people driving past – however, neighbours are not far away so you don't feel isolated. Be aware also that you can't have BB Qs in this area (not just the villa) - a shame but with the amount of trees in the area we could see why. The pool was great and offered a welcome relief in the hot weather.
We had a problem with the Wi-Fi when we were there, but we reported it straight away and Lucinda arranged for a new box to be delivered, and a neighbour to come in and install it - quick service for something that was mostly out of their control!
Would definitely recommend this property for those who prefer not to be in the hustle and bustle but able to access it not too far away! This was a wonderful property where most people would enjoy staying.
