The Charente is the south-eastern part of the Poitou-Charentes region, situated in west-central France and to the north-west of the Dordogne area.
Among the scenic highlights in Charente, exploring the course of the river Charente itself is popular and offers opportunities for boat trips and the chance to quietly enjoy the countryside.
Upstream from Angouleme the river is much smaller and calmer, splitting into smaller meandering rivulets and areas of ponds and small lakes, while towards the sea from Angouleme the river can be navigated by larger boats.
Our Maison du Jardin is set within a pretty walled garden where sunlight plays amidst stones and dappled shade. It has 3 bedrooms, one of which is set on a mezzanine. A fully fitted kitchen, generous living room with open fire and charming beams, together with outdoor swimming pool.
Maison du Jardin is the largest of the three properties set in the front courtyard overlooking the orchard. It has its own private terrace nestled in the center of the gardens. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and two separate w/c.
The attractive coloured beams and open plan living area incorporates the sitting room, dining and kitchen area (34sq.m) with the staircase to the upstairs mezzanine twin bedroom.
The gite has under-floor central heating throughout. Sky freeview CD & DVD. The kitchen is fully equipped to include electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine/tumble dryer.
The main double bedroom (18sq.m) is decorated to ensure that comfort and style are priority, with a leather bed and drapes, plenty of storage to include walk-in wardrobe and large en-suite facilities. The second double bedroom (12sq.m) comprises twin beds (which can be converted to a double), light oak furniture with a large built in wardrobe. This, and the second bathroom with bath/shower and wc, are a recent addition to Maison du Jardin and completely enhances the existing property. It has underfloor heating and is equiped with wifi.

+ £100 reduction for 2 week bookings.
+ Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday.
+ Arrival is from 1600h and Departure from 1000h.
+ Payment of deposit reserves your holiday.
+ Full payment is required 8 weeks before your arrival
+ A returnable security deposit of £200 is required with your final payment and will be returned to you within 2 weeks of the end of your holiday.
+ Receipt of your deposit will be seen as accepting our booking terms and conditions as laid out on our ‘Booking Conditions’ page which we ask you to read.
+ Out of high season we are happy to negotiate arrival and departure times
+ You must make you own arrangements for holiday insurance
