Cholas Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has a lovely sunny aspect and has been renovated to a high standard yet maintains many of the original features.
The large living area, with woodburner, has comfy sofas and satellite TV, DVD player, unlimited Wi-Fi, along with books and games for all the family. There is a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, fridge and freezer. Upstairs comprises of 3 bedrooms, 1 with king size bed and an en-suite shower room, another with a super king size bed (which can be adapted to singles if required) and a further single room. There is a additional family bathroom with bath and shower. The bedrooms have plently of storage space, bedside tables and lamps. Opposite is off-road parking with garage and a fully enclosed garden with covered terrace. There is a BBQ, tables, sun loungers, parasols and garden games.
We can provide prepared home cooked seasonal meals anytime during your stay.
Cholas Cottage is located in the small village of Saint Valérien between the market towns of Fontenay le Comte and Luçon in the Vendée.The quiet village of Saint Valérien, is within a stones throw of open countryside and is ideally located for many of the attractions to be found in the area. There is lots for all the family, safe sandy beaches are 45 minutes drive away as is the old port of La Rochelle.Traditional weekly French markets are all close by.
Day trips include the famous Puy de Fou, Futuroscope or follow the wine trail through Mareuil-sur-Lay. Within 40 minutes of Figtrees Farm there are three or four excellent golf courses.
We want you to relax into your stay from the moment you arrive and have made every effort to make the cottage as comfortable for you. You will also find two bottles of complimentary wine, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a bottle of mineral water waiting for you in your accommodation.

Close to home is the Mervent forest great for cycling, walking, canoeing, kayaking and horseriding.
Safe sandy beaches, 240 kms of coastline to discover with 140 kms of sandy beaches, La Tranche sur Mer and La Faute sur Mer are both very popular.
La Rochelle is one of France's most historic and strategic ports, playing a vital role during WWII. Sit in one of the pavement cafes in the old port and watch the world go by or visit many of the fashionable boutiques set amongst stunning period French architecture. La Rochelle now has its own large Ferris wheel so discover the town from a birds eye view. Other attractions include boat trips to the outlying islands, the Aquarium and close by is the chic and beautiful island of Ile de Re.
The Venise Vert (Green Venise) is in the Marais Poitevin. Travel by 'batai', a flat bottomed boat typical of the region and discover the green cameo landscapes, picturesque natural settings, diverse wildlife, flora and fauna.
Parc Pierre Brune, Chateau des Aventures, Indian Forest are great days out for the all members of the family.
Just over an hour away and well worth a days trip is the world famous Puy de Fou and Futuroscope. Not to mention the Chateaux, Abbeys and gardens which are all close by.
The larger supermarkets can be found in Fontenay le Comte (15 mins) or Lucon (20 mins), they are open from Monday to Saturday. There is a smaller supermarket in nearby Sainte Hermine (10 mins) and L'Hermanault (5 mins) both are open on Sunday mornings.
There are several local markets selling locally produce within a short drive from Figtrees Farm.

Cycling is a great way to explore the local countryside and unless you are bringing your own bikes we would recommend BikeHireDirect. They have some great packages to include family, adults or childrens bikes and they will deliver them directly to Cholas Cottage.
