A very relaxing week in very comfortable surroundings. Everything you need contained in this very special apartment. A number of good restaurants within walking distance.

We had a delightful stay in the terrace apartment. All the rooms were very stylishly presented and very homely, that said it was the stunning terrace where we spent most of our time. Surely the best view in the village, perfect for a glass of wine in the evening watching the sun set.
Nicole made us feel extremely welcome, with some useful suggestions to explore the beautiful village and surrounding areas. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Lagrasse and the surrounding countryside are impossibly beautiful, and you can't enjoy them better than at House La France. No other property has better views of the hills, river, and medieval bridge - and none appears in more photographs! Entering the apartment from a narrow, cobbled lane, you immediately step into a cobbled courtyard with stone walls and high galleries. You feel you've been transported back 800 years. Ascend a spiral staircase to the apartment. A living space, at once elegant and rustic, greet you. On either side of the living room are main bedrooms, each with tall French doors and its own toilet / bath. A set of stairs leads to a precious third bedroom, also with its own bath. The jewel, however, is the open terrace that looks out over the river and hills. You could spend your entire vacation lounging on it and never leave the apartment. Did I mention the large picture windows that open in two ways, depending on how much air you want in? Or the sound of the water trickling over the river rocks at night? Or the local rooster whose first cockcrow at 4h30 is initially annoying but then becomes quaint? I could go on and on. Let me finish by saying that Nicole is a gracious and professional host, quick to respond to any questions you may have, and obviously one who takes great pride in her property, and for good reason. depending on how much air you want in? House la France is a haven of calm and peace amidst a beautiful French town with quaint cafes, restaurants and stores scattered through the little alleyways and along the Promenade. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the house is just perfect ... comfortable, well equipped and beautiful. We've just had the best holiday we've ever had.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Terrace Apartment in Lagrasse. The apartment is in a medieval house wrapped around an inner courtyard and overlooking the river towards the Abbey. The apartment is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The large terrace on the top floor is a real bonus. Unfortunately the weather did not permit us to make full use of the terrace, but the apartment is well set up for all weathers so this wasn't a problem. Lagrasse is a delightful, friendly village and we enjoyed eating at a couple of the many local restaurants and made full use of the bakery for croissants! Nicole was very helpful and a great host. Excellent communication both prior to and during our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend staying here and can't wait to return.

Beautiful and stylistic but still homely. If you want a relaxing holiday in an outstanding property, this is the place for you.

We loved our stay at your house. Your house has given me major bonus points among my friends! Sorry that we didn't get to meet you, but you were always easy to correspond with.
You must be accustomed to this by now, but your house is the loveliest house (among many lovely houses!) That we've ever stayed in. I cannot let you know adequately how much I appreciated your thoughtful design. Every detail was superb. I want to reproduce the concrete (?) Flooring throughout the space. The unanimous favorite space for the entire group, though, was the rooftop terrace. I could easily spend a return week never leaving Lagrasse or your house. In fact, I could spend much longer in Lagrasse.
A note to future travelers: early May is a delightful time to visit. This May was a bit cooler than normal, but it was still quite pleasant. All night long one sleeps with the frogs croaking along the river. It was heavenly.
Another unexpected surprise was how beautiful the view is from the house and terrace: a rocky slope with native vegetation that was very calming.
Many thanks again for the most delightful of stays.

Couldn't really imagine a better home base for a relaxing week in the south of France. Lagrasse itself is lovely, with a few nice local restaurants and shops, and good hikes just outside of town. The house itself is really comfortable, with beautiful finishes and a great terrace upstairs. Each bedroom had an en-suite, which was also a plus. Nicole was super helpful, and gave us good tips for the area, and helped us make reservations at a local restaurant.
I cannot wait to come back.

I have just returned home after my sixth visit. Lagrasse is such a lovely village and the two House la France apartments are perfectly situated with views of the river and 12th century arched bridge. Featured in design magazines, the apartments are beautiful and comfortable, and both include outdoor spaces for enjoying the lovely setting by the river. The three-bedroom apartment has a huge terrace, partially covered and with dining and lounging areas overlooking the river, that you may never want to leave. Just go, it really is wonderful! You'll likely become a repeat visitor, too.
