Beautiful 3 bedroom Gite in Parcay-les-Pins, near Saumur, Loire Valley Reviews

A perfect stay in a well equipped gite. Great to see all the Loire Valley attractions and also a great location to cycle around the local area. The booking process was quick, easy and straightforward. Thanks for a lovely holiday. We will be back.

Well, what a wonderful time we have had in France! We all fell in love with the location and the Ashley/Holloway party thought La Croix was a beautiful home - it really was hard to leave and we will hold the memories of a good time for years.

Thank you for your directions, instructions and advice - all were welcome and very useful and we were able to get about with ease and find all we needed.

A fabulous place to stay in order to explore the loire valley. The property is in a very peaceful rural location however it's only about a fifteen minute drive to 2 really lovely restaurants one in Homme and the other at the Hotel Pelican Vernantes we had several good value meals at both restaurants where the food was excellent. We then returned to La Croix where we relaxed outside watching the sun go down with a glass of wine then stargazing listening to owls hooting it was heaven. The property was clean and well equipped the large downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal for our elderly parents as was the large bedrooms and bathroom upstairs for ourselves and our son. We had 6 days touring around the area and we were very sad to leave at the end. We will deffinately be returning.

Just like to thank Louise and Peter for allowing us to stay in their gite. Its amazing to see what it was like 2 years ago and compare it to what it is today - a lot of love has gone into La Croix.

The property was exactly as described. Its really well equipped. There is lots of open space, not too fussy which is what we like. Its c. 2.5 kilometres to the nearest town (Gizeau) which has a nice bakery, butcher come general store and biscuit shop. There is also a very nice walk around the village.

The property was clean throughout and we had no problems using any of the kit. The patio around the back is fantastic - it was great to see the sun go down night after night after a hard days holidaying. We ate outside every day and made good use of the BBQ.

La Croix is well placed to travel east and west - there is plenty to do within a 30 min drive which was fine for us. The highlight for the boys was a visit to the tank museum in Saumur - if you are interested in WW2 or military vehicles this is a must see. The girls loved Villandry and also a visit to the Troglodyte settlement that we cycled through nr Saumur. Langeais, Chinon, Candes St Martin, Saumur, Fontevraud - all were great.

Booking the property was a doddle and it was a very easy transaction. I'd have no problem recommending La Croix to family and friends. You will need to drive or cycle to get around but as long as you are prepared to do that its a great place to stay.

We have just returned from a wonderful two weeks in this beautiful, spacious gite. We are a family of six, and the gite was well maintained, very clean, and had everything we needed to have a relaxing holiday. The owners answered any questions promptly and were very helpful and friendly. Nearby lakes were a big asset for the children to swim in most days, often on our way home from days out. Altogether a great place to stay!

Excellent, well presented, clean cottage. Home from home! Well located for the Loire in easy reach of Saumur and Chinon. Beautiful countryside ideal for cycling. Louise and Peter were a pleasure to deal with. Thoroughly recommend this cottage to stay in.
