Gite Hectre
Clistivan is a breton longere (stone longhouse) in Southern Brittany, beautifully converted to the highest specifications. We offer 2 comfortable and spacious beamed gites with a fenced garden, baby equipment, TV and DVD, washing machine, microwave, dish-washer, hairdryer, books and games.
Gite Hectre offers 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4/5. 1st floor: 1 double bedroom, 1 twin, mezzanine with bed-settee, bathroom. Ground floor: full kitchen, living room/dining room.
Clistivan is in a very tranquil setting, surrounded by fields, but only 10 minutes walk from the village of La Chapelle Neuve with its shop, bar, etc. There are lovely walks and cycle rides starting from the country lane beside the gite, and rabbits, lizards, butterflies and birds all around.
The property is placed on the brow of a hill, with beautiful panoramic views of the Brittany countryside. You can admire the magnificent sunsets while having bar-be-ques during the long evenings (an extra hour of sunlight compared to GMT).
It is a 5 minute drive from the local market town Baud where there is a good range of shops, supermarkets, a swimming pool, cinema, and restaurants. You can still eat a three-course meal for less than 10 euros including drinks! Try the Breton specialties of crepes and cider, or the marvelous seafood.
Clistivan is situated 25 minutes north of the coastal city of Vannes, and 1 ¾ hours from the port of St. Malo (Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth). There is easy access to medieval cities, megaliths dating from 3000 BC, and of course the beautiful sandy beaches of the Morbihan coast, thanks to uncrowded dual carriageways.
Lyndsey and Andrew provide a warm welcome and are on hand to offer advice or sort out little problems. They have lived in Brittany for 12 years with their son Charlie, aged 17, and can answer many of your queries about the local area.
"Such a wonderful gîte, full of more than everything you could want. We've fallen in love with the whole area." Guest comment
