La Mouleyre is a stunning Chateau set in 3 acres of beautiful grounds surrounded by some of the world famous vineyards and Chateaux of St Emilion. Positioned at the head of a lovely small valley it has exquisite views over the tranquil landscape of the surrounding vineyards to the hills of the Dordogne River.
This charming retreat is in the heart of wine country, just 7km from the UNESCO World Heritage medieval village of St Emilion. It is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy and from which to explore the many pretty villages and historic towns of the area and experience wine tastings at the most iconic chateaux.
Built in 1602, it was Chateau La Mouleyre ( St Emilion Grand Cru ) until the vines were sold to the neighbouring Chateau Faugeres and the house, barn, chais (wine aging cellar) and grounds were purchased in 2008.
Renovated sympathetically so it retains all the original charm into a beautiful country retreat, its 17th century origins are evident. La Mouleyre is a fine stone structure which has been furnished with an uncompromising approach to comfort.
The spacious and elegant interior allows guests to be as social or as private as they wish. This fantastic property compirses are 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and 4 reception areas offering comfort for friends or multi-generational families.

Barn
- Large barn----( ex wine prod area ) used for games ( ping-pong ), darts, etc with equipment for pool, bikes( 5 adult ( 1 e bike ) and 2 children's), boules, football for use outside and tennis equipment and basketball for use at the nearby courts. Has a wood burning fire so is also used for wine-tasting; and meals/parties for very large groups. games equipment, bikes,etc. Indoor play area.

The 10mx4m heated ( 28' C ) pool is now operational. Depth 0.95m to 1.50m with steps and "beach step" at shallow end.
The landscaping and privacy stone wall are being completed.

The area around La Mouleyre is great for cycling (5 adult bikes--one electric--and 2 children's bikes) and for hiking/walking through the vines. Horseriding nearby. A small lake with a sand beach 15 min away and fishing/canoeing/rowing on the Dordogne. Near Castillon la Bataille, great spectacle of re-enactment ( ~500 actors ) of last battle of 100 years war several evenings during the summer.

For bookings of 2 weeks or more, some discounting is possible.
For the Easter and Christmas periods, the minimum stay is 4 nights
During the balance of the year, the minimum rental period is 3 days. The daily pricing is 1/7 of the weekly pricing shown for that period.
