Lovely Normandy farmhouse situated in beautiful countryside halfway between Mortain and St Hilaire du Harcouet, an ideal situation for walks, cycling and visiting the many local attractions

We have extended and modernised our comfortable Norman farmhouse to include Wi-Fi and satellite TV. It now comprises 2 double bedrooms and a family room (including cot) all with king size beds, in a scenic and peaceful rural setting. It provides an excellent base for touring Lower Normandy and Brittany.

Accommodation:

The new extension on the ground floor consists of a bedroom with its own bathroom and patio.
The two upstairs bedrooms have maintained their original Norman feel though one is equipped with a modern en suite shower and wc and there is also an additional separate bathroom with over bath shower next to the second family bedroom which has the cot in it.

The farmhouse kitchen has at its centre an eight place dining table with highchair, and is equipped with an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasherand coffee maker.

The large oak beamed lounge has log burning stove, satellite TV and CD playing facilities with a selection of board games and records to play, with an additional screened single bed if required.

The property boasts oil fired central heating throughout (apart from the new extension which has electric heating) plus wood burning stoves in the lounge and kitchen.

We welcome families, children, and pets and have an easily accessible ground floor bedroom and bathroom for those finding stairs difficult.

There is ample safe off road parking and a securely fenced lawn and patio area with BBQ facilities and tables and chairs in which to enjoy the peaceful south facing view. A smaller west facing private terrace adjoins the new bedroom extension.The remaining extensive grounds include a selection of ancient outbuildings and an orchard currently grazed by the neighbouring farmer's sheep.

The Area:
Mortain has an outdoor swimming pool and weekly entertainment in the summer with a weekly market, shops bars and restaurants. St Hilaire, much bigger than Mortain, is a bustling town with a twice weekly market, indoor swimming pool, lake and many shops, restaurants and other leisure facilities.

Avranches, Villideu les Poeles and Ducey are all within half an hours drive with walking, fishing, cycling, horse riding, museums and golf. There are many other interesting places within easy reach including Mont St Michel, St Malo, Dinan, and the Normandy beaches. We are also very close to many children's attractions such as Alligator Bay, Ange Michel Theme Park, Bellfontaine enchanted village with tree top adventure for older children.
