Twenty years after it started making its first wines, Calmel & Joseph - founded in 1995 - acquired a superb estate, a former metairie (tenant farm estate), typical of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

Our unique estate, a stone’s throw from Carcassonne, nestles in a 160-hectare valley in the foothills of the Val de Dagne, Alaric mountain and the Hautes Corbières. Surrounded by spectacular landscape, it is just minutes from Carcassonne’s medieval citadel and the Canal du Midi, both listed as Unesco World Heritage sites.

The estate is a great place to come and enjoy some rest and relaxation with family or friends. Set in a unique environment, our four fully renovated gîtes offer many activities for guests during their stay – from relaxing by the pool or in the sauna to enjoying various sporting activities (horse trekking, hiking, mountain biking) on the estate’s land and along the numerous paths and trails in the area, including the GR36 long distance walking route which runs alongside the estate …

LE DOMAINE (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8) - A luxury lodge in the original farm of the area perfectly designed to welcome you as well during the Christmas holidays around large chimney fires than during the summer to enjoy nature and the proximity of the famous city of Carcassonne the Canal du Midi.

Accommodating up to 8 people, it has three beautiful and spacious 1st floor rooms, one with terrace and private bathroom. A child's room is also fitted.

Your family meals or friends will enjoy the dining room overlooking the terrace and surrounding countryside when standing in the kitchen, which is itself complete with a fireplace.

Finally, relax in the pool, the sauna or the many paths to explore the area ...

Possibility to rent the entire domain, or 10/11 bedrooms and a mezzanine for a capacity of 20/25 people.
