We fell in love with Cannes last Summer as it has everything for a perfect summer holiday sun, good beaches, good transport links and a wonderful atmosphere in the evening. This year (2011) we needed a larger appartment to accommodate my sister who holidayed with us. We chose this appartment over others on the rental site as it had three good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. The outside terrace was also a huge draw , it looked so pretty with geraniums and wooden furniture. I was a liittle nervous before we set off as I had only rented through friends before never from a rental site. I need not have worried the owner had handled all payments very smoothly and instructions for our arrival, he had arranged for a delghtful French lady to meet us at the appartment when we arrived in Cannes.
The appartment was beautifully cool when we arrived due to the air conditioning and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and decoration of the property. It is beautifully French with shutters at the widows and traditional flooring throughout. We have never stayed in such a well equipped and spacious appartment.
The location is perfect, just off the Rue d'Antibes which is perfect for shopoholics like myself, and close to the sophisticated " Croisette " super for window shopping and looking at sports cars.
We ate out every night and were spoilt for choice, there are lovely cafes, brasseries and fish restaurants just back from the main street , it is good value to eat here. We also enjoyed wandering up through the old town at night and ate here a couple of times aswell. The firework display over the marina on the Sunday evening was spectacular, best viewed from the top of the old town.
We made great use of the railway during our stay and visited Nice, Antibes and Monacco all very different but lovely especially Antibes with narrow streets and wonderful views out to sea. We also took a boat trip to the Island of Marguerite which is great for snorkelling but is stony under foot so jelly shoes would be helpful . The island also has a pine forest.
I would definitely return to Cannes and to this appartment , it was perfect for our family my son 9 and my daughter 12 had a lovely twin room and were able to go off to sleep leaving myself, husband , and sister on the outside terrace at night , with a bottle of wine and lovely views of the streets below.
We had a wonderful time , this is a perfect appartment for families and would like to return sometime soon.
My family (2 sisters & a brother) spent a week in this lovely apartment-we were celebrating a sister's 60th birthday!
From the moment we arrived, we settled in.The apartment is spacious & very well equipped.Because there are 2 apartments in one, we all had our own space. The balcony is a big plus-complete with a barbeque, sun umbrellas, furniture & with a fridge within easy reach!
The bedrooms are bright & airy & the beds very comfortable. In the lounge we found books, dvds, board games as well as broadband.
The apartment is soo central ,within easy reach of the train & bus stations, supermarkets,a catholic church, restaurants & of course beautiful clothes shops on Rue d'Antibes! There is a facility to store your luggage in the train station for a nominal sum.-if you have time on hand before a flight. The direct bus from Nice Airport stops near the apartment & offers a regular service. The local buses depart just 2 minutes away-travelling to Antibes, Nice etc costing a few euro!
The owners provided excellent customer service-queries were answered immediately-not that there were many!I'd definitely recommend this property to friends & would love to return there again.
