La Tannerie is a selection of 6 holiday rental properties situated in the village of Chalais in the Charente. They offer guests a tranquil oasis where they can relax in a selection of holiday properties sleeping from 2 to 10 people. Situated in the grounds of La Tannerie is a large heated swimming pool, play areas for children and a wonderful shaded seating beside the stream. The properties all feature WI-FI and satellite TV.
La Maison de Maitre
comprises of four large bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. The property can sleep up to 10 people. The property features a large decked area with views of the garden and swimming pool.
Les Baignades
Is a 2 bedroom gite featuring a well equipped kitchen,private sitting and dining area with BBQ, it has views across the lawn to the swimming pool.
La Secherie
A two-bedroom cottage with Satellite TV and a log burner, it has south facing views and its own private sunny terrace area to the front with table, chairs and a BBQ for Al fresco dining and leisurely evening drinks.
Etable 1, Etable 2, Etable 3
The former stable block has been converted into three separate gites, retaining original features such as wooden flooring and beams and exposed stonework. All three of the gites have been fitted to a high standard and feature Satellite TV and a DVD player heating is by electric radiators.
Etable 2 has two bedrooms and a further bedroom with bunk beds.
Etable 3 also has 2 bedrooms one with double bed and one with bunk beds
The village of Chalais has all you need for a comfortable holiday in France with supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants all are within just a few minutes stroll of your cottage.
Within easy reach of your cottage is a selection of beautiful villages just waiting to be explored, each one boasting it's own restaurant cooking wonderful local cuisine. Slightly further afield and ideal for wine lovers are the vineyards of Bergerac, St-Emillion and Cognac all just a short drive and which all offer tours and tastings.
A superb day trip would be to the wonderful beaches at Royan, or perhaps Futuroscope science theme park at Poitiers. For guests with an interest in the history of WW11 Oradour-sur-Glane is a second world war memorial village.
