Saugé is a substantial 19th century maison de maître with 16th century origins situated in Sanxay, the delightful and historical Poitou Charentes region of France. Sanxay, the village, is conveniently situated midway between Poitiers and Niort nestling in the valley of the River Vonne surrounded by gently rolling countryside. All the necessary amenities for an enjoyable holiday are nearby, including grocery shop, a post office, boulangerie, bar, hairdresser, fine restaurants and a SPAR supermarket (5km away in Mènigoute). By the river is an olympic size open air swimming pool. For golf enthusiasts, there is an excellent course nearby.

The gite provides comfortable and well-equipped accommodation for 4 or 5 people in a peaceful setting. It boasts a sunny terrace and gardens overlooking the historic and picturesque village of Sanxay. Set around a courtyard on a site which has been occupied since Roman times. There is also a chambre d’hôtes in the main house if you wish to sleep a further two people.

The gite comprises a large open plan sitting/dining area with a beamed ceiling and stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove, television and DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen has a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
There is a spacious double bedroom upstairs with an en-suite shower and WC. Downstairs is a bedroom with a double and single bed with an ensuite bathroom. There is a separate WC and large storage cupboard in the entrance hall. From the living area there is direct access onto the terrace which boasts a barbecue, table and chairs – ideal for al fresco ding and enjoying the fantastic views over the village!

All linen and towels are provided and beds will be made-up ready for your arrival. The chambre d’hôtes in the main house has a double-bedroom with ensuite shower - This can be booked separately or together with the gite for larger groups.

The property's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

All prices below are per week from Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday morning: prices below are for a four person occupancy.

Contact us to discuss the possibility of other arrival or departure dates, 3 or 4 day stays or 2 to 3 person occupancy.

Longer term and winter lets are also available.

Payment may be made in euros at the current exchange rate.

A booking form can be emailed to you by return with a copy of our terms and conditions. Final confirmation will be made on receipt of payment of a 25% deposit.
