Castelsec is a place not far from the little village of Roquefort des Corbières, close to the Mediterranean sea in the Languedoc Roussillon. 3km further up the mountains across the “garrigue” or 5km up the winding road you will find Castelsec overlooking the sea and mountains.

The first settlers came to Castelsec in Gallo-Roman times. Evidence of the settlement can still be found on the 9 hectares property where the remains of an olive oil mill, a foundry, and a lime kiln probably dating back to the Middle Ages still exist.

Castelsec, the building overlooking the Domaine de Castelsec, is thought to have been the property of different noble families, such as the Pompadour de Monteil. During the French Revolution, the settlement was almost completely destroyed. In the 19th century, the core of the main building was used as a shelter for shepherds. To make it habitable again a lot of work and love has been invested.

Bedroom: double bed (140cm), child bed, an armchair, television.

Shower room. Sink, bidet, WC, shower.

Large terrace with table and chairs.

Built in 2014 with ecological material such as wood, straw, earth, wool…

Energy savings lamps, water saving taps , Internet connexion.
