The house is a restored farmhouse, parts of which date back to the 14th and 16th centuries. Over the years the house has served as a refuge for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella (Spain), a landlords residence during the revolution and later a farmhouse. It is now fully restored keeping as many of the old and original features as are compatible with modern living.
There is a large sitting room with an open fireplace, and original ceiling beams. The dining room can seat 20 people intimately however there are tables and chairs in the garden where lunch can be taken in the shade of the cherry tree or dinner closer to the house with the heat of the walls reflecting back onto you. The kitchen is compact and fully equipped with all mod cons. There is also a washing machine and dryer in the back kitchen as well as an extra fridge and back up cooker. There is also a large table in the back kitchen seating up to 10. Larger family groups tend to use this area for feeding the children when al fresco dining is not possible and thus having the peace and quiet in the dining room for more adult meal times.
The house can sleep from 11 (north and east wing) to 20 persons (+south wing) - there are 6 double bedrooms, 1 triple , 2 twin rooms and 1 single room. The bedrooms are grouped as follows, the first floor having a double, twin and single sharing a bathroom (to get to the twin and bathroom you must to through the double or single bedrooms), the second floor having the master bedroom and twin sharing a bathroom, and at the top of the house a double bedroom with a shower room. The south wing then has 3 double bedrooms and 1 triple: 1double and the triple sharing a bathroom, and a further 2 double bedrooms also sharing a bathroom. You have to go through the triple to get to the last 2 double bedrooms. There is also a shower room downstairs. We supply the bed linen and house towels - you must bring your own pool towels. There are also 2 cots available on request as well as a high chair.
The house is surrounded by gardens on all sides with garden furniture (deck chairs, tables + chairs, gas barbeque etc.). The pool is fully fenced off to one side of the garden and the tennis court is at the other side of the house.
