Le Cosquer is a 16th century Breton farm situated in the heart of the Brittany region in France. Although the farm is no longer being used as such, the house has been sympathetically restored and the barns converted into Gites giving a very high level of accommodation. All of the accommodation is insulated, double glazed and comfortably furnished. The farmhouse sleeps 8 and the gites sleep 6.
There is generous parking space with all the accommodation. For those looking for a quiet day, what better than to sit in the apple orchard with a bottle of wine and a good book?
We are happy to welcome any golfers, fishermen, walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists on our wonderfully clear roads and peaceful countryside in groups or pairs. See our page on golfing holidays and we can put together a programme for any type of holiday you want. Obviously, groups would find June, July and September more acceptable for their purposes.
Originally these were a stone barn alongside the farmhouse which have been renovated, keeping and exposing the original timbers.
The ground floor is open plan with a lounge / dining area which has a comfortable three-piece suite, and dining table and chairs.
The corner kitchens have full-sized gas cookers, electric fridge and microwave oven.
Up the straight pine stairs there is a double-bedded room, bunk-bedded room, shower and toilet. On the third floor is a twin-bedded room.

Le Cosquer is situated one mile outside of the village of St Connec, which comprises a Bar , a church and the usual Mairie, found in all French villages. Just five miles away is Lake de Guerledan, with sandy beaches and safe bathing for those who do no want the hustle and bustle of sea beaches. Boat trips, water sports, fishing, cycling and walking are all available in this very beautiful area. If you have your own boat, bring it! There are no launch fees and launching is very easy.
The area surrounding St Connec has many pretty villages with superb restaurants and churches, and along with the Napoleonic Castle at Pontivy, Bon Repos Abbey, La Forge des Salles, all go towards making this a great area of architectural study.
For those who prefer the sea, Carnac, with its long, sandy beaches, the megaliths and the oyster beds, is an easy hour's drive away. The beaches in the North, which don't get so busy, and as the coast is more rocky there are little pools to play in and many shells to be found.
There is a choice of all sizes of shops, from hypermarkets in Londeac and Pontivy, to the small on site shop for basics.
Eating out is a pleasure, at the Lake, and in Pontivy and Londeac. All are very reasonable and very good. There's plenty to do, from sightseeing the lovely chateaux, visiting the coast or go-carting. We'll be there to tell you all about it.
During the season, the owners or a member of the family will be available to answer any questions, help solve any little problems which may arise, and attempt to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
The heated swimming pool is a good size (16' x 32') with paved paths and an area for sitting. It is fenced off for the safety of little ones. There is a boule park to play on and boules to play with and individual barbecues for your use. The games room has table tennis (you might like to bring your own bats) and other games plus an extensive library to keep you and your family occupied.
We have linkups for six touring caravans and space for camping. This is very useful if you have an overspill problem in the gites. Prices are very reasonable.
We have a large playing field also, where many a game of football, rounders, badminton and swingball have been enjoyed.
