One bedroom gite rental ideally situated in the hamlet of Villemonteix. This lovely property can accommodate up to 4 guests wishing to explore Limousin. This beautiful region of France is dotted with historic buildings, wonderful lakes and fantastic restaurants offering international and regional cuisine.
The accommodation comprises one bedroom with double bed, a bathroom with a large shower. There is an open-plan sitting-room/kitchen, plus a comfortable double sofa-bed double available which provides the sleeping arrangement for the third and fourth guests.
The well equipped kitchen is fitted with a quality cooker, microwave and washing machine. A TV with English Free sat channel and a DVD player are provided, plus a selection of DVDs and a large library. The gite is available for rent all year round and features a cosy wood burner for guest wishing to book the gite in the cooler seasons.
The gite rental is set in a private garden of over an acre and features a private terrace with a BBQ and seating for 4 guests wishing to take advantage of the glorious weather and dine Al Fresco.
For guests wishing to explore the area there is a vast choice of activities and attractions to be found locally just 5 minutes drive from the pretty Lac de St Helene where there is a well kept beach for sunbathing and a separate section of the lake is reserved for guests wishing to try water skiing.
Slightly further afield is Lac de Vassiviere which offers beaches, swimming, canoeing, and water skiing. The lake has an Island in the centre with a wonderful Chateau and gardens, plus a small selection of animals such as llamas and donkeys.
The vibrant town of Limoges is just 35 minutes drive from the gite. Limoges is host to a number of great of attractions, porcelain and enamel museums, a daily market for your daily fresh produce, shopping, the Cathedral and other churches, gardens, an aquarium, bowling, golf, restaurants and bars.

The hamlet of Villemonteix is at the gateway to the Monts and Barrages (mountains and dams) natural park, and so a visit to the Plateau de Millevaches (not the Plateau of the thousand cows as most people think, but actually it comes from the Celtic mil batz - a thousand springs!) and the volcanic region of the Massif Central is a must.
The skiing region of Mont Dore, Besse and Superbesse is approximately a two hour drive and is more than worth a visit even out of skiing season!
Special Rental Conditions
Electricity and water is included in the standard tariff. Extras charges for courses are by agreement and are payable in advance.
Extra charges for produce are payable at the end of the stay.
A booking deposit of 25% is payable on booking with the balance being due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Cancellation charges are pro rata depending on notice of cancellation and are fully explained in the Terms and Conditions.
A security deposit of 150 Euros/120 Sterling is payable on arrival and refund of this is made at the end of the let. This is fully explained in the Terms and Conditions.
We are able to accept payment in Sterling at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of payment.
Payment can be made by Paypal but an additional 5% is added to the cost to cover Paypal commission.
Please note that normal changeover day is Saturday. Check-in time is 4pm and checkout time is noon! During the high season we normally only accept bookings of 7 nights minimum, (3 nights in low & mid-season) but if you are booking late and we have the availability then we will consider shorter bookings. The minimum for any stay is 3 nights.
