‘Azara’ is a beautifully designed 4 bedroom villa. This 4 bedroom home away from home enjoys a well thought out spacious open plan living area downstairs. Here you’ll find a kitchen dining area and a sitting area. The dining table seats 8 and the living area, with flat screen TV, can comfortably accommodate 8 too. The kitchen is well equipped and opens out onto the large balcony terrace. Upstairs you’ll find 2 double bedrooms (one en-suite), a twin bedroom and a shower room. On the third floor in the tower room is the second twin room which enjoys great light & exposed wooden beams.
Outside there is access to the pool and children’s play area and the villa terrace has seating & private barbecue facilities too. ‘Domaine de la Roseraie’ is located on a hill a short stroll from Brantome “Venice of the Dordogne”,the River Dronne encircling the small town, linked to the outside world by five bridges. Excellent restaurants. Lovely market on Fridays and in the summer always painting exhibitions in the Abbey. A fun place for children, too, with canoe hire. Don't forget to visit St Jean de Côle en route there or coming back, one of the beautiful villages of France.Its gabled bell tower, rising from the rock, is held to be the oldest and one of the finest in France. The original Benedictine Abbey was founded in 769 by Charlemagne. The Abbey as it is today was rebuilt in the 18th Century and now houses a museum with prehistoric remains and a permanent exhibition of the mysterious trance paintings, engravings and drawings of the medium-cum-artist Fernand Desmoulin1853-1914. In the summer it also shows the work of living artists, which are offered for sale.
Brantôme offers all the family an ideal base for touring and exploring the beautiful Dordogne.Many places of interest nearby include Château de Richemont Home of the Abbots of Brantôme. The village of Villars offers three attractions; the Château de Puyguilhem, the Abbaye de Boschaud and the prehistoric caves at the Grotte de Villars. Bourdeilles just further downstream from Brantôme, has a 16th Century Renaissance Château built alongside the earlier 12th Century Fortress. Périgueux, 20 minutes away, is the principal city of the region and has much to offer in the way of sophisticated shopping and fine dining to suit all tastes and pockets. The markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays are an absolute must. Château de Hautefort, Sarlat, Bergerac and Cognac are all within 'day-trip' distance as is the fabulous pilgrimage to the vineyards of Bordeaux.
