Charming Cottage in Perfect Location
We were the first American couple to rent this lovely place. We wondered if we should keep this gem to ourselves, but it's only fair to tell the rest of the USA (and the world) that this cottage in Tremolat is impossible to beat.
We were pleasantly surprised at the care and detail of the decor. Both outside and inside, attention to detail created a cozy, "at home" feeling.
The owners greeted us warmly and the two times we visited with them, we felt almost like part of the family! The set up is perfect- we had total privacy (would have never even known they are there), but we could go up the steps to their home to ask questions or visit. They always welcomed us inside and gave great tips about sight-seeing and restaurants. One of the most pleasant aspects of our week in France was meeting such lovely people.
Tremolat itself is a quiet, beautiful village and a perfect home base to return to each night after visiting the surrounding areas. We went all over the region! Wineries in Bergerac, amazing view in Domme, Chateau de Beynac, canoeing the river between Cenac and Beynac, Font de Gaume caves, shopping in Sarlat, the gardens of Marqueyssac, Abbey at Cadouin, and much more! There is plenty to see and do, but this is also a great place for relaxing and resting if desired.
And the food, my heavens the food! We ate like kings at every meal. Tremolat itself has a Michelin starred restaurant Le Vieux Logis that is a gourmand's dream come true. Also in Tremolat is Les Truffieries- one of our best meals. Nearby in Limeuil, try Garden Party.
This was our dream vacation and everything fulfilled our expectations perfectly. We are so pleased with this house rental, the town of Tremolat, and the entire Dordogne region.

A cosy gîte in the stunning Dordogne area
The picture-perfect village of Trémolat is the perfect base from which to explore the lovely Dordogne area, with its glorious castles, walks, markets, medieval villages (bastides) and caves. This pretty gîte – Les Cireys – sits just outside Trémolat (a 5 minute walk if you're going slowly) and has a lovely, peaceful feel to it. The decor is very "French rustic-chic" but is still very comfortable and cosy.
We didn't have the best weather during our week-long stay, but it didn't stop us getting out and about and enjoying the area. The tourist office in Trémolat has a good booklet full of beautiful, themed walks (eg pigeonniers, bastides, riverside etc) – highly recommended.
For an affordable, charming place to stay in this beautiful area you can't go wrong with Les Cireys. The owners, Geoff and Lindsay, provide lots of information, too – including some good restaurant recommendations. Thanks very much to them!

Ideal Week In Tremolat
Our stay at Les Cireys in Tremolat was everything we had hoped for and more than promised by our hosts Lindsay and Geoff Warlow. We found the small village of Tremolat a perfect base for our daily excursions throughout the region. And should you prefer just relaxing in comfort, the photos in this listing tell a very accurate story.
Les Cireys is very comfortably and tastefully decorated. Privacy is no problem as the garden pictured in the photo of the exterior is for the exclusive use of renters. The Warlows are very warm and friendly and are always available with advice, should you ask.
Tremolat is situated within easy driving distance of some of the prettiest towns and villages in France and has four dining options from pizza to a Michelin starred restaurant. All but one of these are within very easy walking distance.
Overall we found Les Cireys offered excellent value and are happy to recommend it to anyone with similar tastes and interests.
Thanks Lindsay and Geoff!

Magical
We returned from Dordogne a week ago and are missing it terribly. This is a particularly magical holiday rental owned by Geoff and Lindsay – the finest of hosts. It’s situated in Tremolat, which isn’t marred by the tourist trail but is perfect both in its ‘Frenchness’, its architectural beauty and location.
On our arrival Geoff and Lindsay talked us through the area and recommended all sorts of things to do and see. There’s a warmth to them that’s very rare and after the briefest of chats I felt like we were friends. And yet they were tactfully absent for the rest of the holiday except when we needed them. Brilliant! I should add that we left some washing on the line mid-holiday whereupon it rained (naturally). When we go back we found that their son had bought our washing in for us (thanks Joe!)
The apartment itself looks like something from Elle Deco – elegant, tasteful and yet cosy and charming. With a private garden, globe-lit swinging chair, deckchairs for lazy days, etc, etc. I can’t recommend it enough.
And then there’s Dordogne. It’s paradise. We canoed down the Dordogne river, ate in local restaurants and meandered around gorgeous medieval villages. It was the prefect antidote to life in London.
A thoroughly recommended holiday rental!

Return to Les Cireys
After our first magical visit to Tremolat and Les Cireys, we have longed to return and at last we did last month.
Possibly more beautiful than before, we drove through the village and up the remembered lanes to our gite and were welcomed by Geoff and Lindsay.
The following days were filled with peace and serenity, rediscovering this area of such beauty, doing absolutely nothing in the delightful accommodation, filled with light, soft sofas, many books. A little kitchen (mind your head on the beam), a dining area and upstairs - a hideway bedroom looking out over the countryside.
Nothing is every too much for Geoff and Lindsay, warm and humourus people - they feel like old friends.
If you want to drop out of a busy world - this is the place for you

Les Cireys
This is the best of many gites we have stayed in France. It is as it shown on the pictures! Tastefully furnished. Clean. Well situated on the edge of the village a five minute walk to the boulangerie. Lovely garden. Many places to visit in the area.
Lindsay and Geoff are friendly, kind and helpful but not obtrusive.
Highly recommended.

Fantastic!
We had a fantastic week staying in this very comfortable and cosy holiday 'home'. The gite is beautifully furnished and contains all the equipment that one could possibly require. The location is perfect for both touring and local attractions. We found Geoff and Lindsay absolutely wonderful, they were very helpful & willing if we requested information and at all other times we were given total privacy. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this gite.

The ultimate true French country experience
Peter, Sydney Australia
Wonderful clean and very comfortable French rustic accomodation, with every facility and loads of character in the decor. Beautiful views of the countryside. Great outdoor area's for that barbie or just soaking up the sun. Plenty of reading matter, games, dvd's and cd's for chilling out.
Five minutes walk into the lovely town, and 10 to 15 minutes to the river with all it has to offer.
The hosts are very welcoming, but unobtrusive, and only too willing to help in suggesting places to visit. A meal at Les Truffieres is a must, as is a trip to the medieval town of Salat.
Very romantic, and those views, highly recommended - you will love it!

A rare find, a property that exceeds expectation!
Geoff and Lindsay have created a beautiful holiday home. Furnished with style and flair, the perfect romantic getaway. Great outdoor spaces to enjoy the views and alfresco eating. Tremolat a short walk away is a pretty village with restaurants, cafes and a patisserie. The area is rich in places to explore, the hilltop gardens at Limeuil being a real highlight.
