This character 16th-century house offers an inviting atmosphere, set within 6 acres of enchanting gardens, it’s a peaceful and private retreat for large groups of 12 to 16 people, with accommodation in the main house and an optional gîte.
Prices reflect the full property rental for 16 people including both the main house and the gîte. However, discounts are available if you prefer only the main house. Flexible stays are also available outside of July & August. Please enquire!

Accommodation is available in two buildings: The main house sleeps up to 12 people and the optional gîte, a fully equipped independent bungalow sleeps up to 4 people. Both buildings have fibre internet installed.
In the front of the building, a flight of stone stairs leads up to a terrace, known as a ‘bolet’. There are entrances off here into the sitting room and kitchen.
The sitting room has a fireplace, and classic dark wood-panelled ceiling with traditional furniture and ornaments. The large formal dining table seats 10.
The kitchen is well-equipped for large parties and includes a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and a microwave. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. There is also a large breakfast table.
Bedrooms 1 & 2: On this same level there are two spacious double bedrooms, one with an ensuite shower room. There is also a bathroom on this level, with the door immediately adjacent to the second double bedroom.
Bedrooms 3 & 4: On the top floor there are two twin bedrooms with a bathroom with bathtub, basin and WC and also a separate WC and basin between them. These bedrooms have air conditioning.
On the ground level there is a sitting room in an attractive cave with vaulted ceiling that overlooks the pool. Also on this level are bedrooms 5 & 6: one double and one twin, one with an ensuite shower room, the other with ensuite bathroom.
Approximately 100m from the main house, the gîte sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms. With its own enclosure and separate entrances, the gîte is a modern bungalow. It has a fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a sitting room with dining table, a three-piece sofa suite and a wood burner.
Its double and twin bedrooms share a bathroom with a bathtub with shower attachment over, WC, and basin. Outside the gîte is a small garden with shaded areas.
A cot and high chair are available on the premises.
OUTDOORS :
Outdoors the gardens span just over 1 hectare (2.5 acres). The enormous 15 x 6m pool and its terrace make the south face of the house a stunning feature. The pool is heated to 29C, and it is included in your rental price.

Down a short garden path past some Cyprus trees, is a full-sized hard tennis court, which includes a raised spectator deck on one side.
The pool house includes equipment for tennis, badminton, a dartboard, and a selection of items for use in and around the pool. There is also a small building with table tennis, and further around the side of the house among shrubs is a game of giant garden chess set with a full set of playing pieces, the largest being some 1.2m (4ft) high.
As you head around the garden there are a number of pine trees, and an oak with a hammock, before you arrive back by the main door at the courtyard parking area. There is ample parking for several vehicles.

If you can tear yourself away from Clauzades Vieilles, there is much to see and do in the surrounding area. The nearest town is the Medieval Bastide of Tournon d'Agenais, with tremendous views from the medieval ramparts especially at sunset. There is a weekly market there, as there is at most surrounding towns and villages.
Restaurants are plentiful at both Tournon d'Agenais and Montaigu de Quercy. For everyday shopping, there are small supermarkets at Tournon D'Agenais and Montaigu de Quercy, or for Hypermarket shopping, there is a large LeClerc hypermarket at Fumel, approx 12 km to the north. For larger towns, Les Clauzades Vieilles lies almost halfway between Cahors to the east and Villeneuve-sur-Lot to the west, both with a Roman heritage, or the main regional town of Agen is a little further away to the south-west.
