4 bedroom Gite with large Pool, Near Carcassonne - Les Acacias, Sleeps 12 Reviews

Perfect holiday location

My family and I travelled to the Languedoc region for a week’s holiday and booked Neil and Vicky's gite based on the ample photo's provided and information supplied by the couple.

On arrival everything was not only as described and photographed but more...a welcoming bottle of wine, a tour around the house and gardens, lots of local information ptovided about markets, restaurants, towns and vineyards to visit. They couldn’t have been more helpful.

The house is very tastefully done, keeping with the original farmhouse feel yet brand new bathrooms, kitchen, etc.

nous avons loué 2 gîtes pour passer le réveillon de fin d'année. Nous sommes restés 4 jours et avons passé un merveilleux moment au calme.

Les propriétaires, Vickie et Neil, sont très charmants, accueillants, gentils et attentionnés (à notre arrivée il y avait un petit panier plein de surprises pour chaque gîte et un sapin de noël bien décoré).

Les gîtes (les acacias et les pins) sont confortables, propres et spacieux.

De plus ils sont bien équipés, même s'il manque un lave vaisselle (ce qui peut faire défaut si on est 10 pour plusieurs jours) et un micro onde (nos hôtes nous ont quand même gentillement prêtés le leur !).

A great stay.

We had a lovely stay in les Acacias, helped by the weather which was absoutely glorious. The house was well described and more than lived up to our expectations, it was well equipped, clean and comfortable in a rural location with magnificent views. There were gardens and plenty of outside space to enjoy a glass of excellent local wine and the pool was a good size although a bit chilly for some of us to do more than put a toe in! The temperature didn't stop the younger members of the party having fun splashing and swiming. We enjoyed visiting local villages, restaurants and the market at Revel, not to mention borrowing cylces to ride along the towpath of the Canal di Midi. The owners were obliging and helpful and able to suggest the local places of interest. They recommended the mini supermarket/garage on the outskirts of the local village and we certainly endorse the recommendation for all basic food stuffs - especially the bread - and indeed more than the basics. We would certainly recommend the property to friends and thoroughly enjoyed our six days. Thanks to Neil and Vickie for making it such a great stay.

Holiday 2015

This was our first time in this area of France and it did not disappoint. As would appear typical of French farms,on first appearance (which is the rear) it looks a bit shabby, however, from the front it is clearly looked after and the inside, beautifully renovated. The grounds are great, the pool is fantastic, owners very knowledgeable in regards to the local area. When Neil and Vicky tell you a market or a place is worth a trip, listen because they are right. There is as much or as little to do in the local area so the property location is ideal.

Our stay at Les Acacias, Domaine Saladry

Our holiday at Domaine Saladry has to be one of the best we have had! Situated in an ideal location to explore, relax, discover and enjoy so much of what the fabulous region has to offer, and to have such kind-hearted, thoughtful and accommodating hosts in Vickie and Niel was an absolute privilege. Our time there was truly worry-free.

For future guests you may not wish to leave the tranquility and atmosphere of the Domaine, but if you do, a short venture to the wonderful Ecluse de la Payruque just a few km along the Canal du Midi is well worth the stroll. Be sure to check out the lake and cascades at the Basin de St. Ferréol, take a dip while you're there and be sure to picnic with you toes in the Ariege, if you can fit any in alongside the myriad of things to do and places to see.

Summer Holidays 2015

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers ranging in age from 18 to 13.

We loved our spacious geit which we shared with another family of 5 with children the same age.

There was plenty room for us all.The quiet country retreat was a dream come through.We loved the new pool.Vicky and Neil welcomed us on arrival and were on hand during our stay to answer any queries we had and have a chat whenever.They work very hard to look after their guests and the whole place was spotless.We were near the Midi canal and they provided bikes for cycling at a very good daily rate.We were 35 mins from Carcassone so we were able to drive in there a few times during our stay. The airport is very easy to access.
