A wonderful stay (copy of review on Home Away)
La Fleurie is a high quality gite. The house is spacious and nicely furnished. Beds were comfortable and linen and towels were provided. The hosts provided a starter pack; a bottle of wine, beers, breakfast items. This was a lovely surprise. Also there were really useful condiments such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar etc. which meant we didn't have to buy these items. The outside space, which is walled and provides total privacy, gets the sun throughout the day and is perfect for relaxing in the sunshine. The outdoor furnishings are good quality with plenty of parasols to provide shade if required. The hosts were able to provide much local knowledge and made recommendations for local restaurants, all of which turned out to be spot on. I would recommend this gite to anyone and would love to return one day.
Perfect base for family holiday (Copy of review on Home Away)
Beautiful house with fantastic hosts! We had a fantastic stay at la fleurie. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. There were 6 of us in total; two couples, a baby and a toddler and we had a great holiday. Roger and Jane are fantastic hosts - Roger recommended and booked a restaurant for us in nearby Minerve and it was an unforgettable meal. The perfect base to explore all the nearby sights!
Pretty Idyllic (Copy of review on Trip Advisor)
This was our second stay at La Fleurie, the first time in all our years holidaying in France we have gone back to stay in the same rental. It is well situated in the village of Mirepeisset which has a small shop and a couple of eateries. Roger and Jane have a created a lovely place which is well equipped and extremely comfortable. On our arrival there was milk in the fridge, and products to make up a meal that evening. The pool is a real asset, nice and private. Roger and Jane are great hosts, they live in the nearby house and are on hand if there is any problem, not that there was, and will offer advice on most things in the area. Perfect hosts. The village is close to the Canal Du Midi which provides nice walks or boat trips. Narbonne indoor market provides a vast array of fantastic fresh vegetables, meat and fish.
Perfect family holiday (Copy of review on Trip Advisor)
La Fleurie provided the perfect setting for our family holiday. The house is immaculately equipped and the private pool and leafy terrace kept our kids aged 15, 13 and 9 amused for hours. Owners Roger and Jane are really friendly and provided some useful tips on the best things to do in the local area, from the beach at Gruissan and restaurants in Le Somail to local bike hire along the canal and a boat trip in Narbonne. If you're looking for a relaxing setting in luxurious accommodation, La Fleurie will provide all you need. The welcome pack consisting of wine, fresh baguette, milk and other essential items was particularly appreciated on our arrival. I highly recommend La Fleurie and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we visit the area in future.
Wonderful property - excellent location (copy of review on French Connections)
Had a wonderful stay at La Fleurie! Beautiful, private property with a gorgeous pool area. Lots to do within 40 minutes drive - Narbonne, Carcassonne, kayaking, horse-riding, Canal-du-midi, cycling, etc, etc. Roger and Jane are wonderful hosts - providing lots of information and key tips, without intruding on privacy.
Fabulous Holiday (Copy of review on Trip Advisor)
Roger and Jane are great hosts and have thought of everything for a lovely stay. We didn’t have to rush out to get toilet rolls or dishwasher tablets etc, as has happened many times before in other holiday rentals. It’s fully equipped. The pool is gorgeous and a real suntrap, sadly we didn’t get much sun, but as a result we went out exploring and there is plenty to do. Carcassonne is a must do, it’s gorgeous, but wear comfy shoes as theres loads of steps etc, but worth it. La Somail is on the canal and in walking distance, it’s really pretty with about 4 restaurants, all of which are very good. The first day we decided to walk to La Somail there was a big storm on our way back, and Roger contacted us to ask if he could pick us up! You have to agree, that is above and beyond! All in all, this was a fabulous trip, and we would definitely revisit. The location and surrounding areas are great too. We’ve been to quite a few areas of France and this one now holds a warm place in our hearts.
Best welcome ever (Copy of review on Chez Nous)
Best welcome ever, I had read many reviews before we arrived none of which were exaggerated.
The Gite was outstanding and is kept to a very high standard.
We all had a great holiday, our hosts were discreetly on hand to help us get to know the area, they were very informative with local knowledge!
Highly recommended!! AAA!
Wonderful stay (Copy of review on Trip Advisor)
We stayed in Le Fitou last year and came back for more - this time in La Fleurie. It is a wonderful place to relax and cut off. There is a nice walled patio and pool area with plants and vine all around just for this property. Great for outside dining. This one has three bedrooms, two twins and a double, and each has a bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge diner is airy with the vaulted double height ceiling. The hamlet is lovely with an epicerie which sells very decent patisserie every morning only a short pleasant stroll away. There is a river and park and you can bathe in the river. Vineyards all around and a pleasant stroll or cycle will see you in neighbouring villages like Le Somail or Ginestas. Loads of great villages nearby. Mountain, sea or vineyard. There are shops and supermarkets nearby as well as the local farm markets etc. The hosts couldn't be better, very welcoming and entertaining as well as discrete and considerate of privacy etc. We are not people who return to the same place to holiday. Or so we thought. We are already planning next year as we come away feeling recharged and refreshed.
Lovely house full of character with excellent private pool and good location (Copy of review on Trip Advisor)
We spent a fortnight here in July 2017 with our teenage children and had a great holiday. The house is very well done out with loads of character and the private pool area was fantastic to cool off during the day and for late night star-gazing swims. The house was spotless and the pool very well-maintained. Roger and Jane were great hosts, unobtrusively on hand whenever we needed anything and gave us great tips for trips out. The house is well placed for days out and we visited castles, abbeys, caves, beaches, "plus beaux villages" and went canoeing and walking, although days lazing by the pool were a pleasure as well. It's a short walk to a well stocked village shop to get morning bread and croissants with a supermarket 10 minutes drive away. There are restaurants within walking distance- in the village and in neighbouring Le Somail. And if you like running there are a couple of different routes to run down to the Canal du Midi and then several options to keep going. La Fleurie ticked all our boxes and is a really good place for a holiday.
Fantastic family holiday! (Copy of review on Home Away)
My husband, son (age 13) and daughter (age 8) and I have just spent 2 fantastic weeks at La Fleurie and we would highly recommend this accommodation and area for a family holiday!
The Gite, location and activities went beyond our expectations and is certainly the best holiday we have had in France!
The spacious Gite is tastefully decorated and has a 400 year old stone wall and high ceiling which definitely gives it a 'wow' factor! It is clean, well equipped and each bedroom has an ensuite which is ideal after a day at the lake or beach. Outside there is a good size swimming pool (which Roger our host discreetly maintained on a daily basis), plenty of loungers and a garden table and chairs, all contained within a beautiful walled garden making it very private. Pool towels were provided too along with parasols and a cool box for a day at the lake or beach.
Our hosts Roger and Jane were very welcoming and extremely accommodating, booking activities for us and offering advice on restaurants and days out and accurate weather forecasts! On our arrival a welcome pack for our evening meal and breakfast (including wine and beer!) was provided and greatly appreciated after a long journey.
Mirepeisset is a quiet and very quaint village with a lovely little shop/bakery only a 5 minute walk away where we bought our daily croissants and baguettes! For a bigger food shop a supermarket is only a 5 min drive away.
We made the most of having our car and everywhere we visited was between 5-45 minutes away. Our days out that we would recommend include visiting Narbonne to see the tallest/smallest cathedral followed by a walk by the canal and finishing the day off with a delicious cake at the 'Delice Cake' cafe is a must! Kayaking, lake swimming and pedalo boating at stunning Roquebrun! The drive to Roquebrun is spectacular too! We really enjoyed an Olive oil tour and tasting at L'Oulibo which included a treasure hunt for the children to keep them interested. We also visited Fonserannes Locks at Bezier and Bezier town with its floating umbrellas and spotty streets on show in the summertime. We also highly recommend the soft sand beaches and clear seas of Gruissan Plage and La Franqui Plage. Jouarres lake was also very good and fairly quiet with a floating Aquapark for the children.
In the evening we ate twice at a lovely local restaurant in Mirepeisset called La Garenne and also visited the Marina at Gruissan to eat in restaurants overlooking the boats.
