3 Bedroom Holiday Rental Barn in Riberac, Dordogne, France. La Maison de Hoopoes-Hop is a gîte complex located on the outskirts of Riberac in the Dordogne region of France. It is run by mother and daughter Irene and Lesley. Completly refurbished for 2015, the property consists of the main house, a cottage, a barn and a large 1 hectare garden. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms whilst the barn has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms spread across a two story conversion. Both have fully fitted kitchens, living rooms, UK TV with DVDs and free WiFi. In addition, each property has its own BBQ area with large gardens for guests to relax and enjoy and a large above ground swimming pool. The gîtes are situated within walking distance of the town of Riberac but just far enough away to enjoy a peaceful retreat in the gorgeous French countryside.
The properties offer the highest levels of accommodation and convenience for couples and families. For large group bookings both properties may be booked, allowing up to 12 people to enjoy the Hoopoes Hop experience. Both gîtes have new kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and hob. We also provide a dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, hair-dryer, bed linen and towels. Pool towels are also included to ensure you have a great holiday.
THE BARN: The barn entrance is around the side of the barn with a split entrance door to allow ventilation and keep young children in. Once inside the barn, to the left is the downstairs twin bedroom and shower room/toilet next to it. To the right is the open plan fully equipped kitchen/diner/living room. Upstairs you will find a 2nd living/seating area and a further 2 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

RIBERAC - The town is a short walk. There are restaurants, cafés and shops. There are also tennis courts, a cinema which often shows English-language films and a locally renowned Friday market, where you can view and buy antiques, soaps, jewellery, delicious local produce, pottery, linen and vintage clothing. A smaller farmers' market is on Tuesday mornings. The town has pharmacies, bakeries, banks, supermarkets and, if you are thinking of buying a house in the region, there are several estate agents we can introduce you to.
A few minutes drive takes you to Canoes Ribérac, where you can hire a kayak or canoe by the day or for a few hours and explore the River Dronne. Take a picnic lunch and look out for the fish and otters.

If you enjoy walking and old buildings, a superb group of Romanesque churches is on your doorstep. Should you enjoy painting or photography the Dordogne has attracted countless artists, professional and less so and one could do no better for a subject than the very attractive view of Ribérac and its churches and old buildings.
