Great out of season weekend break

We arrived at Les Cypres for a long weekend searching for some R&R from our busy lives. We received a lovely welcome from Vicky and Neil - very helpful and have lots of info on the local area! We headed off to Carcassone La cité and was in awe what a beautiful place! Settled down for the night in comfy beds and clean surroundings! Then the next morning we were absolutely blown away by the stunning views of the Pyrennes!! Had a great time there, pictures reflect the gite well. Nice and clean, spacious,lovely hosts! I am sure that we will be back again!

We came across Domaine Saladry when we decided to look for a base to stay whilst we were traveling around France – and what a fantastic find it was!

This is one of those rare cases where the website is great, and the accommodation is even better. It was so good - we ended up staying for three months.

We stayed at 'Les Cypres’ which is one of the three charming gites available (all different sizes). It is extremely tastefully decorated and very comfortable, spacious and child friendly (our daughter and son-in law plus two young kids came to stay). Neil and Vickie (the owners) have impeccable taste and a great eye for interiors – we think they have got the mix of modern and antique French furniture just right. As our stay was in the winter, it was warm with electric or as we preferred with a cosy log fire and a glass of the lovely local wine. It was scrupulously clean – we couldn’t fault it, a real ‘home from home’.

Sunflowers, sunshine and space!

Domaine Saladry is surrounded by countryside - fields of sunflowers when we were there - with distant views of the mountains. There is a feeling of space about the whole outside set up, with gardens, seating areas, a play barn and a large pool. Inside our gite (Les Cypres) there is plenty of room too and all the facilities are high quality such as a stone tiled floor and huge woodburner. The gites are situated a couple of km from the Canal du Midi - we cycled there several times on the bikes hired by the gite owners. There's plenty to do in the area and local shops for groceries and bread. We had a lovely time and hope to return in the not too distant future!

Wow, what an amazing place

Words struggle to describe what an amazing place Saladry and Les Cypres is. It is a stunning location with truly wonderful hosts.

We stayed for a week in July and everyone had a wonderful time (party aged from 9 months to 70). The Gite itself is beautiful and very tastefully decorated with plenty of space. We were 4 adults and 2 children and we never got under each others feet.

The surrounding gardens and facilities are just stunning: The swimming pool is huge with amazing views of the surrounding countryside; the Hanger, or 'play barn', as my son called it, kept a 4 year old amused for hours, whilst also being very tastefully presented (not a piece of bright coloured plastic in sight to spoil the view).

Neil and Vickie are the best hosts we've every come across over many holidays. They really go above and beyond. We managed to get one night out, free of the kids to go for dinner as a couple (thanks in-laws) - At short notice we hired the bikes to ride down the canal du midi to an amazing fish restaurant (I would recommend both the restaurant and the ride), then Neil offered to picked us up in the van (bikes and all) at the end of the night - what a star!!
