2 Bedroom Holiday Cottage 3 Km from Curemonte, Beaulieu sur Dordogne - Fleuret Cottage

Fleuret Cottage dates back to 1820, and is part of the hamlet of Fleuret. This charming holiday home incorporates traditional features such as the original bread oven and stone sink alcove with ‘œil de bœuf’, terracotta flooring, exposed beams and stonework. Nestled at the bottom of the property, it enjoys a completely private garden while benefiting from the beauty of the red sandstone buildings behind, large swimming pool and games room, landscaped grounds, meadows and woodlands. The breathtaking view of the medieval village of Curemonte on the opposite side of the valley adds to the uniqueness of this lovely home

Ground floor

Large salon with terracotta floor, wood burning stove and beautifully exposed stonework. 2 comfortable sofas for relaxing, a selection of books and games as well as plenty of information about the area. UK free to air satellite TV and DVD player as well as Wi-Fi internet access. The dining area with farmhouse table seats 4/6 people. 

The kitchen is set in the original bread oven, and is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. French doors open onto the terrace and barbecue area, shaded by trees and a lovely pergola. 

The first floor consists of one double and one twin bedroom, sharing a bathroom with bath, overhead shower and toilet. 

The cottage has a private terrace and garden, with adjacent parking. The huge 14 x 7 metre swimming pool is situated next to the barn, some 50 metres from the cottage, while the upper floor of the barn has been converted into a large games room with table tennis, table football and a pool table.

This area is fenced so that young children cannot gain access unaccompanied. The pool and barn are situated well away from the cottage and shared with guests staying in the main house. The swings and sandpit are situated in the back garden on the other side of the property. A laundry room with two washing machines and a dryer is also available for the use of all our guests. The English owners live in the third house on the property, and are happy to help you with any queries you may have during your holiday.

Location

Fleuret is just 3km from the village of Curemonte where you will find 2 restaurants, a bar, post office, small shop selling local produce (but sadly no fresh vegetables or bread!) and in July and August a weekly evening market with the possibility to buy your supper and then barbeque it with the locals!

The nearest shops are in either Beaulieu sur Dordogne or Meyssac where you will find everything you need as well as twice weekly markets year round, restaurants and bars.

For golf lovers we now have a 9 hole golf course just 3km’s away. We also have bicycles for hire on site and as keen cyclists and runners ourselves are happy to advise on routes.

A mere 15 minutes drive takes you to numerous beautiful villages such as Collonges la Rouge, Turenne, Bretenoux and Martel, as well as the Dordogne river itself.
