We have spent a wonderful week at beautiful Chalet du Capcir (Nov 2022)- Husband, daughter (aged 11) and I have all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s hard to put into words the beauty of the surroundings and the stunning scenery! The chalet had literally everything we needed and more. It has a very cosy, ambient atmosphere with lovely blankets and cushions and decor that really delights. Beds are super comfortable too. Everything we possibly needed in kitchen/dining areas was there. The view from the lounge area with a very comfortable sofa and armchair is truly spectacular and to see the same stunning view al fresco there is a great spot to sit on a couple of benches and really take in the views just a 30 seconds walk from the chalet at the top of the road. Could sit there all day long and be happy. Also at the top of this road there is a beautiful walk down through the trees to a lovely lake (lac naturel de Balcere). We came last week of November and was so lucky we had 2 wonderful days of heavy snowfall which made the scenes even more spectacular for the rest of the week and lots of fun was had playing in the snow, and tobogganing. The village of Les Angles has the ski slopes, shops, bar, takeaways , restaurants and lovely souvenir shops and also lovely to walk through the old town with a beautiful church and you get to see the lake and Mountains a lot closer than from at the top from the chalet which was also lovely (though the views from the chalet up high seriously take a lot of beating).
We drove to nearby Font Romeu, Llivia, Puigcerda and all were beautiful. We also spent a day at the spa right in the village (Angleo balneo & Spa) and it was absolutely fantastic and I can highly recommend this (especially if after a day skiiing or playing in the snow) with an amazing thermal outdoor pool & indoor pool with tons of hydrotherapy jets all in different sections, sauna, steam room and hammam areas). The spa was spotlessly clean inside. We watched a couple of Christmas dvds in the chalet.
At the end of our trip we did ski lessons and 2 days on the slopes. Private lesson for our daughter Addi (aged 11) - the ski instructor was amazing with her, and I as a returning skier (after 34 years break). Was amazing! Ski centre very organised, lovely staff. Hubby did the luge run which he absolutely loved. Ski ing for all levels catered for even ski home to chalet is possible (weather dependent). Was a fantastic 2 days on the slopes. Restaurant up there had gorgeous food.
We can highly recommend Chalet du Capcir and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
