Vieille Abbaye is a small hamlet of a dozen or so houses set deep in the Parc Naturel Perigord near St. Saud Lacoussiere, Dordogne.
Our beautiful, self catering holiday cottages are situated in Vieille Abbaye, a charming village surrounded by forests, with an abundance of wild life. The Red Squirrel is common as are the Martins and the Sanglier (Wild Boar).
There are many different species of birds, some of which are different, eg the Hoopoo and the “hovering” Redstart, and many buzzards and other hawks.
The cottages are located in the country, surrounded by fields and forests. It’s an ideal area for walking and horse-riding. It is also a haven for cyclists providing safe and quiet country roads for both the experienced cyclist and anyone who would like to amble through the wonderful countryside.

The cottage enjoys a spacious open plan kitchen/dining/ sitting room, with wood burner. You’ll find a TV and DVD, alongside books and games for children. The 2 bedrooms – 1 double and & twin bedded room – each enjoy their own toilet/shower. The front of the cottage opens onto lawns and gardens, where you’ll find an inviting and fully-fenced 12m x 6m swimming pool.
Access front and rear of the cottage is via wide doors with ramps. You’ll also find tables, chairs and parasols for both front and rear of the cottage for those memorable relaxing outdoor meals and barbecues.
L'ecurie” is situated in the Parc Naturel Perigord/Limousin. With many unspoilt hamlets and villages, and beautiful countryside. Canoeing at Brantome-25kms. Swimming lakes at St Saud-8kms, and Bussiere-25kms. Ropes and high-wire pulley rides at Bussiere-25kms. Fishing in local lakes-St Saud and Miallet-8kms.
