L’Epicerie can sleep 4 people in one double and one double room.
L’Epicerie Gite features a fully fitted kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge freezer,and washing machine with great storage and worktop space. The kitchen is equipped with le creuset cookware, slow-cooker, microwave, coffee-maker, juicer, toaster, and steamer.
L’Epicerie has an open-plan area to sit and relax and watch satellite TV, DVD, listen to CDs or read a book. The village has wifi access so kindles, mobile phones and laptops can be used.
The master bedroom on the first floor of L’Epicerie is a light airy room with double aspect views, overlooking the walled garden. It has an oak floor, stone fireplace and rustic stone walls. The large mansard bedroom on the second floor has traditional beams, stone walls, soft lighting and beautiful views. In this bedroom, there is a traditional Quercy sleigh bed and a large double bed.
Just completed is a new bathroom/wet-room with walk-in shower and tiled walls and floor.
The outdoor dining area on the terrace is shaded by a canopy of grape vines and bamboo. This is a favourite place for breakfast and a quiet place for alfresco eating in the evening.
The enclosed garden has mature trees and shrubs which offer a shady place for eating, reading and sitting. Here, there is a 9 x 5 swimming pool with a single depth of 1.3 metres.
The Local Area:
The pretty village of Cabrerets, 4 kms away, provides all the necessray amenities. There are three restaurants, boulangerie, supermarket, two hotels, post office, Tourist Information and a Friday market.
Within a 15 minutes drive, the local area offers three outdoor activity centres providing rock climbing, canoeing, VTT, extreme sports - pot holing, caving, parcours. The Quercy National Park is ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding, painting, and fishing. River swimming in the Cele is a popular activity.
The popular tourist sites of Rocamador and St Cirq Lapopie [one of the most beautiful villages in France is only 15 minutes away] are an easy drive away. The prehistoric caves of Peche Merle are 5 minutes away. Orniac has the “Museum of the Open Air” which provides an insight into local crafts and traditions based on a rural community.
Orniac is situated exactly midway between Cahors and Figeac. Cahors offers a market twice a week whilst Figeac has a popular Saturday market.
During the summer, the area offers a wide range of cultural activities, concerts and fetes - from opera, open-air cinema, brocantes, traditional folk music to discos.
