17 Century Holiday Farmhouse with Private Pool in Issac, Dordogne, France Reviews

We were a group of 3 couples aged 26 - 30. We had a brilliant time swimming, playing cards, drinking wine, cooking, sight seeing, sun bathing.... The house was even better than the pictures, lots and lots of space. Great outdoor area to eat dinner, great BBQ, lots of lawn to play games. The house was really clean and the hosts were very friendly and laid back. There was a beautiful hamper of food on arrival.

There were great TVs and sound system too, only thing is it didn't take MP3 player, but that was the only thing we could fault!

Can I just say that is possibly the best holiday I have had, the property was beautiful, the pool, the gardens and the Graham and Sarah could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay last week(Sept 3rd til 9th 2011) where quite sad we had to go home but we will be booking for next near. Thank you so much Graham and Sarah for a great house and holiday. See you in 2012.

We had a fantastic week in Maison de Nicola. The house is beautifully done and very comfortable with plenty of space inside and out. It is in the most wonderfully tranquil spot, a real escape from the hustle and bustle back home.

Graham and Sarah were lovely and the welcome pack was incredible. We loved the area, especially St Emilion and would certainly like to see more of this part of France. For us the shops were just a bit too far away from the house but other than that it was perfection.

This most beautifully restored home in an idyllic setting was just the perfect place for us to switch off, although I would recommend it to anyone, except perhaps the disco seeker! I would reiterate everything that the other reviews say.

An incredibly generous ‘starter pack’ was so welcoming, as were the owners Sarah and Graham and their lovely dogs.

The surrounding countryside is absolutely stunning with lovely walks and plenty wildlife, and the surrounding villages are just a pleasure to visit and very beautiful.

It was a first for us in this part of the world and we found everyone so friendly. The only down side was we didn’t stay long enough – hence we are returning twice next year!!

After holidaying in several areas of France for many years now, we have to say that 'Maison de Nicola' truely exceeded our expectations hence the reason for our second holiday there. This Farmhouse is set in an Idylic and peaceful location and is Absolutely Stunning, all credit needs to go to the delightful owners Graham & Sarah who have put so much thought in to the property that you really do not want for anything.

A must is a trip to Bergerac which is only 20mins drive away, with it's vast array of Shops, Bars & Restaurants and also a Saturday Market selling lot's of local produce. Should you need advice on places to eat/visit Graham & Sarah are always more than happy to help.

We are not easily impressed but this holiday fulfilled every expectation. It is an oasis of peace and calm in a spectacular setting and even though the weather was mixed, it did not affect our enjoyment of this beautiful home at all. Graham & Sarah are the perfect hosts - unobtrusive yet always willing to help when asked. Even after 3 weeks, we could have stayed longer. Which means, of course, that we will return!

I want to live here, this is a stunning location and a beautiful house with all the up to date amenities but with all the charm of an old stone house. The views are stunning, watching the deer in the field next door is a real treat, breathtaking. Whilst in the pool you are looking over the best of the french countryside. Only 20 minutes to the lovely medieval town of Bergerac when you need some civilisation, otherwise just chill. If you need time out then this is it. The owners are a delight to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble. Whether a holiday for adults or for families you have found it here. I have been back four times to this place and want to go again tomorow.

Entering the gates of the property you immediately know that you have made an excellent choice. Going down the driveway you observe the beautiful surroundings and an immediate feel of space and calmth overtakes the mind. A little later a stunning farm shows up. Sarah and Graham have managed to create a warm, top quality and unique house in a beautiful environment. The personal touch, fresh flowers, a full basket of fresh drinks and local foods completed the great feeling we already had. Everyting was in perfect condition, proper and neat, comfortable living spaces and a lovely pool. Be sure that you can enjoy an absolute comfortable holiday. We really enjoyed ours. Maison Nicola is the perfect location for a relaxed holiday in France. If you are two couples with children, you each have your own space in a beautiful house which has been renovated with care and love. There is an alarm at the pool, so no worries about the little ones. If you want to be far away from the madding crowd and you like a quiet beautiful green scenery; this is the place for you. you can reach small villages and somewhat bigger cities (Perigeux, Bergerac) within an hour drive. Than you have two wonderful owners; Graham and Sara who give you a very warm welcome and make this house a home for you.
