Stuart and Jules' barn in the small village of Viserny is the perfect place to stay when you want to discover Burgundy's many maginificent sights.

The barn itself is extremely well-equipped, well maintained, well managed - the best we've seen so far after several summer holidays in France. In addition, Stuart and Jules are the most kind and helpful hosts you could ever dream of.

Go to the sunday market in Chablis - it's world class - and Chablis is a fabulous spot. Sooo charming!

Also, use the walking discription showing a 9.5 km walk in the neighbourhood of Viserny. You can expect 2 hours of very pleasant exercise.

We had a great holiday in The Little Barn & were very impressed with interior fittings of such high quality. The attention to detail was such that small things like lots of herbs & spices, food bags of various sizes, binoculars, torch--- all provided---Stuart & Jules had thought of everything. They were available, with information when needed, but also allowed us privacy---perfect hosts.

The walled garden was a beautiful,tranquil place to relax with its established trees offering shade & the comfortable garden furniture for relaxing.

We had a fabulous holiday,the sun shone every day,can't wait to return, would recommend to everyone.

The little barn was truly wonderful accommodation in a really lovely area of Burgundy. The accommodation was so well equipped that we could not think of anything that had not been provided. Not only that but it was all spotlessly clean and everything provided was of good quality. The walled garden was private and full of well tended plants that made it heavenly to sit and relax in.

The area is full of lovely walks and some fantastic villages, chateaux and abbeys to visit. There are also lots of options for places to go for something lovely to eat.

We have stayed in a variety of accommodation all over France and this is definitely the best we have experienced.

Unfortunately our holiday was cut short due to a medical emergency but Jules and Stuart were fantastic and could not have done anything more for us.

This is a wonderful vacation property and was very well appointed, making us feel very much at home. Stuart and Jules were amazing hosts and provided us great recommendations for restaurants and local sightseeing opportunities. The courtyard was very private and was a great place to have a glass of wine and enjoy the sun. I would highly recommend this property and we are looking forward to returning in the future.

I would highly recommend this property for those who are looking for a corner of France that is surrounded with beautiful panoramic views and blissful tranquillity!

The property was immaculate in its cleanliness and the selection of maps and guides provided were particularly useful for us when travelling to nearby villages and further afield to Beaune. Stuart and Jules were also very helpful with their knowledge of local markets, restaurants etc. to enable us to make the most of our stay.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday here and would without a doubt recommend it.

The property actually looks better than the website, everything spotless and modern kitchen. Also lots of extra's such as jam, coffee, nice towels, magazines, DVDs. Great internet connection. Lovely outdoor sitting area. Local scenery and restaurants excellent. Quiet rural village. The owners were on hand as needed but maintained privacy.

We very much enjoyed at our stay in Viserny and wanted to say a big thank you to Stuart and Jules, who are great hosts that 1) provided lots of useful recommendations and local information (the Sunday market in Chablis was very nice!), 2) were quick and responsive in managing our rental request and 3) are very discreet and let you enjoy your stay at your own pace.

The charm of the barn is kept after the renovation but with all the added perks of modern comfort. The kitchen is new and fully equipped, with a dishwasher and all kinds of dishes and pans to make anything you want. We were also really happy to see a very good espresso machine, and used it often.

The rental is spacious and light, and much bigger in person than in the photos. It is also spotless, and has great quality towels, bed linens, nice firm bed and a high resolution TV.

The outdoor garden space is private and has chairs as well as an outdoor sofa to relax in the sun.

The location is perfect: a quick drive to the lovely town of Semur en Auxois, and is also very close also to Epoisses (cheese!). Chablis and Avallon are not far either, and we plan to go to Dijon next time (about an hour away, I think). Lots of shops (InterMarché, Auchan, SuperU) and bakeries are a short drive away in Semur en Auxois, which is very convenient.

Our dog loved the long walks around the area and down by the river.

All of the little extras made for an excellent stay, and we'll be back soon!

What a wonderful place to stay.Stuart and Jules made us feel very welcome,and gave us so much useful information(ie when the bakers van comes!!)

Perfect holiday for dog owners,lots of great walks,and a walled garden as well.

The neighbors were very friendly,and by the end of the week we felt like part of the village(the English people with the big dog!!)

The barn is well situated for visits to Dijon,Semur etc.

The barn had everything you could need,and was up to a very high standard.

We would love to come again to visit the places we didn't have time to go to .

Magnifique maison avec très belle cour privée. Nous avons passés de très bons moments. Petit village de campagne, depuis lequel nous avons pu visiter la Bourgogne. Les propriétaires Julia et Stuart, sont très accueillants, présents si besoin d'aide, mais discrets.

Ce logement comprend tout ce qui est nécessaire pour être bien installés. Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location.

We've had the pleasure of staying in the barn for one week in October. The barn is a home away from home. It's really spacious, it had everything you might need, and the shower and kitchen are of an exceptional standard. Everything was just perfect, tasteful ánd cosy as well. All the other guests have made nice comments about the owners, and we can only agree with them: they're there when you need them, but there's enough privacy as well.

As for the area: Burgundy is very beautiful, and we were very busy the whole week, visiting interesting places. In a circle of about 40 miles, there's a great amount of things to see: to the north there's Montbard, with the Abbey of Fontenay and the Forges de Buffon, Tonnerre and the castles of Tanlay and Ancy le Franc, to the south the lovely village of Semur-en-Auxois. Very close are Avalon, Vezeley, Epoisses (cheese!). In the east there's Flavigny sur Ozerain, and the castle of Bussy le Grand with its wonderful surroundings. Auxerre is a beautiful town, and Chablis with it's Sunday market is a must-see.

In short: a well-worth stay! And all the time you're driving somewhere, you can enjoy the gorgeous landscape of rolling hills, fields and woods.
